The past 2 weeks have been rough, with us moving to a new (bigger) apartment just 6 months after the big cross country move. This was our 5th move in 5 years of marriage and it doesn't get any easier, especially now that Linus is mobile. In fact, it sucked so bad that I got a cold (because the stress of it all suppressed my immune system) followed by a second bout of mastitis, and later on Mattias got a cold too. We even had a Karlsson Family Sick Day last Tuesday. Not to worry, just because the parents feel like crap doesn't mean that Mr. Linus suffers too. Here's the proof:
Being sick gives pappa an excuse to chill on the couch with Linus.

Our good family friend Diane came to visit from California. An avid gardener, we decided she deserved a trip to the National Arboretum. The magnolias and azaleas were spectacular, and the weather was nice and warm.

Linus' first grass encounter. At first he was paralyzed by the feel of it between his toes, but later on he started to eat it.

The end of the week marked Mattias' 2nd annual lab retreat in Shenandoah. We took a hike in the morning and Linus rode in style, of course.

Then yesterday we rushed home for Linus' first Aquababies swim class!

Here we are listening attentively to our instructor.

Splishin' and splashin'

Accidentally swallowing yucky pool water.

But he later gets the hang of it and kicks away.

Today it's 90 degrees outside and we are hunkering down in the apartment trying to keep cool. If this is any indication of how miserable it gets in the summer, we're in for a treat.
Thanks for all the well wishes and we promise to return phone calls, Skype, etc. once we are 100% recuperated.
I love the waterbaby pictures!
ReplyDeletethese are such cute pictures!
ReplyDeleteI love the expressions he makes while he is swimming.
ReplyDeleteI love the swim class photos too. That's a big class, but looks like tons of fun. Don't forget to post pictures of your new place once you get settled in and feeling 100%.
