Kids' Spring Break

Our Spring trip to Lake Tahoe was perfectly timed with one of the best snows of the season.  Hopping into the car at dawn, I studied flash cards while the rest listened to audiobooks.  In no time at all we arrived at the South Shore to take advantage of the stretch of fresh powder. We built a snow fort in no time and of course had a compulsory parents versus kids snow ball fight.
Soon after we checked into our rental and got straight to the first order of business: the hot tub.  Another storm came in on our way out and we found ourselves seeking refuge like a buncha Japanese macaques.

Early the next morning the snow bunnies got set to hit the slopes.  Always willing to try something new, Uncle Alvin joined Linus to snowboard for the first time. Meanwhile back at the rental, Magnus, Anders, and I visited the second hot tub on the property.
In between the hot tubs and snow sports, we spent hours just loafing in the snow.  We made more forts, threw snowballs, and even engineered our own sled run.

Even though I had planned to study a full day, the clear skies and fresh snow pulled me outside.  Nature has its way of reminding me of my priorities.  Besides, the books were still there the following day.
Mattias and I head back to the city and the boys' went to the sunny South Bay to send the week with farmor and farfar. The following weekend we celebrated Easter with an egg hunt and way too much candy.
