At a few weeks old, we decided to try the bottle so that I could go to bed a little earlier. I dusted off the old pump, washed the baby bottles, handed the milk over to pappa. Unlike Linus, Magnus took the bottle without much of a fight.

Guster has been tolerating the neglect pretty well. There has been an increase in attention seeking behavior (like headbutting Mattias in the crotch), and Gus' softest-spot-in-the-house radar has become even more sensitive. Linus' favorite blanket fell victim to Gus' butt hole after he left it on a chair. Other innocent victims include Magnus' baby blanket, my nursing pillow, and Mattias pillow. (Shhh, don't tell Mattias, but I told him that brown spot was "chocolate".)
It's amazing to think that most experiences are "firsts" for newborns. No wonder they're so tired all the time! While this isn't our first time with a newborn, we almost have to relearn everything all over again, because each child is so different. What worked for Linus doesn't work so well with Magnus, and juggling 2 kids is a different story than taking care of just one. Amongst all the craziness and fatigue, Magnus' little "firsts" give us bursts of energy and motivation we didn't think we had.We are looking forward to a few "firsts" of our own, like: sleeping in the same bed (instead of taking turns on the couch with Magnus), date night, sipping our morning lattes in peace, watching a movie uninterrupted... but it might be awhile.
First day home alone with the kids and you still manage to get out a new blog. You amaze me! You go mamma.
